Textile Designer Wannabe

I have spent the last two summers working at my mom's quilt shop, Cazenovia Fabrics. My mom has been a quilter for as long as I can remember and for as long as I can remember she has tried to make me a quilter too. And I'll be honest, I had no interest in it what-so-ever. Until I realized that what I like to do, design, is inherent to the quilting process. Not only with putting the pieces together into a finished quilt but with the raw material of the fabric itself. I became infatuated with the possibilities of fabric—the color, texture, design, everything—and realized that I can use my skills as a classically trained graphic designer in a way I never thought I could!

I got my wisdom teeth extracted on Thursday. Everyone told me I’d be totally fine by Sunday, but Sunday is when the REAL pain started. Any pain I experienced before that was fake. The only way I can categorize the pain is this: imagine eating a piece of broccoli. Now imagine that piece of broccoli you are enjoying is made of steel.
